Are You Safely Handling Fireworks?

6/9/2022 (Permalink)

Summer is a few short weeks away and that means that outdoor barbecues and get-togethers are finally back! Summer time sees some of the largest use of fireworks throughout the year and while fun, they can be extremely dangerous, which is why you must follow proper safety procedures when handling them!

If you're planning to celebrate the summer holidays with a nice firework display, start by ensuring your work area is properly cleared and set up. Any flammable materials or debris should be removed. Dead grass, fallen trees, dead leaves, etc should all be noted and properly dealt with. Even the smallest ember can lead to disaster!

As previously mentioned, safe handling when dealing with fireworks is a must. Always keep a safe distance from the intended launch site, and keep a watchful eye over any young children to ensure they don't wander into danger. Properly designate the danger zone with all attendees and keep it fenced/blocked off so everyone can safely enjoy the spectacle in the night sky!
