2021 Firework Safety

6/10/2021 (Permalink)

Summer is here and a few holidays are just on the horizon. It is important to understand the effects and dangers of things like fireworks and other types of pyrotechnics that you may intend on using during your celebration of these upcoming holidays.

If you are planning to use fireworks or other types of pyrotechnics for a celebration it is best that you ensure the surrounding area or areas that you intend to set them off at are clear of any flammable material or debris. Stuff like dead grass, leaves, rotted or dead trees, trash, bushes, and branches can all be the spark that starts a fire that can quickly get out of control!

It is also extremely important to practice safety for those handling or helping set up the pyrotechnic display. Keep a safe distance from the launch site, and be sure to watch any young children to ensure they don't wander too close not understanding how dangerous it is. Educate your youngsters and keep the danger zone properly designated and blocked off so you can enjoy the spectacle in the sky!
